Mary Benton founded Money Warriors to provide general financial information and strategies to baby boomers who need to take control of their finances, but who either can't afford one on one financial planning or who don't know who to trust. And after 40 years working in financial services, she has found that people are often their own worst enemy!
Mary is a practising financial planner through her own company, Plan4wealth, providing personal advice to private clients. She has over 40 years of experience working in financial services, starting as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton in England before emigrating to Australia in 1988 with Price Waterhouse. She is an Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand, as well as holding a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking and full FASEA accreditation.
Mary is passionate about empowering others to get out of their own way, to make better financial decisions and to set their own strategies to move them in the direction of their goals. More than that, she believes the key to financial confidence is knowing when and how to DIY your finances, and when and how to seek professional advice.
And in her spare time, Mary loves to play with her grandchildren and spend time with family. You can usually find her cooking up a storm, renovating a property, or just camping beside a warm fire with a cold glass of wine!
